Glorious Dawn

1880 New Mexico

Johanna Doan is a golden-haired, slender woman whose tragic beauty hides her bold, determined spirit. She has lived through her parents' murder, her sister's rape and pregnancy; now she must survive the intrigues at Macklin Ranch. Hired as a housekeeper, she discovers that her cruel employer expects her to marry his son. Her racist boss reasons that because his Burr is blond and blue-eyed as Johanna is, the children they would produce would be too. Burr Macklin arouses her anger as well as her passion; he needs to learn that a woman's heart can never be taken by force...only given with love.
